The Little Moore interlocking was the last interlocking designed using the now standard 'Relpol' 4 pole change over relays and was installed to replace the original 'Post Office' relay based interlocking which was the first to be installed.
The interlocking has space for 182 relays, of which 168 are in use and is the largest of the 3.
The area of control is from the Depot area to the south of the Tunnel, and consists of the following lineside equipment:
2 semaphore signals with a single arm and shunt signal
1 semaphore signals with a single arm
1 semaphore signal with two arms and a shunt signal
2 colour light running signal
2 colour light running signals with shunt signal
3 power operated point ends with normal and reverse detection and with manual control override switches
3 spring point end with normal detection
5 plungers for alternate routing
1 platform departure panel
1 depot departure panel
1 Plunger Indicator
Movements from the Depot are initiated by the driver using the depot departure panel which provide 3 options:
MN for going to Much Natter
SHUNT for shunting in and out of the depot
MAIN for moves toward Tunnel East, another Plunger is provided at the Signal for Movements to Little Moore Bay
Movements from the Bay at Little Moore are initiated by the driver using the bay departure panel which provide 2 options:
SHUNT for movements to the depot
MAIN for moves toward Tunnel East
Drivers approaching Little Moore from Tunnel East have 4 routing options intiated by Plungers:
SHED for movements to the depot
BAY for movements to Little Moore Bay
N/S for movements back towards Tunnel East
